Port Coquitlam’s Terry Fox Hometown Run returns September 20 with an accessible route beginning at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, community fundraising, and the 2026 message “Finish It.”

The Terry Fox Hometown Run brought the community together in a powerful way, with families, runners, bikers, and participants of all ages uniting for Terry’s legacy. The rain cleared just in time, lifting spirits as live music energized the crowd at the start line. This year’s route extended through the Port Coquitlam Community Centre, allowing participants to pass by the new Terry Fox sculptures. The Terry Fox Sculptures Port Coquitlam, known as the Gateway of Giants, were unveiled at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre to honour the hometown hero’s legacy. Created by artist Casto Solano, the bronze figures are designed to be interactive and inspiring for all ages. The unveiling featured community activities, a Terry Fox movie screening, and the Inspiring Local Champions exhibit, making it a memorable day of pride and reflection for the city.

The Terry Fox Hometown Run 2025 takes place on Sunday, September 14 at Hyde Creek Recreation Centre. This year’s theme, “Finish It”, honors Terry’s determination and invites everyone to walk, run, or wheel in support of cancer research. The route now includes the new Gateway of Giants sculptures, with a special unveiling on September 13. Join the community in celebrating Terry’s legacy and keeping his dream alive.
