The Terry Fox Hometown Run is back this year in Port Coquitlam, and the community is ready to honor Terry’s enduring legacy once again. The run is more than a race; it’s a chance for people of all ages to come together, celebrate the spirit of hope, and raise vital funds for cancer research.

People gather under a "Terry Fox Hometown Run" banner on a sunny day. A flag waves above, surrounded by trees and a clear blue sky.

If you’re planning to attend or participate, here’s your complete guide to the 2025 Terry Fox Hometown Run.

Date, Time, and Location

  • Date: Sunday, September 14, 2025

  • Time: Registration begins at 8:00 AM | Run starts at 10:00 AM

  • Location: Hyde Creek Recreation Centre, Port Coquitlam

Theme for 2025: Finish It

This year’s theme, “Finish It”, reflects Terry’s determination and encourages us all to continue what he started with his Marathon of Hope. Whether you run, walk, wheel, or ride, the message is the same: together, we can move closer to finishing Terry’s dream of a world without cancer.

Routes and Accessibility

The event offers multiple route options suitable for all abilities, from short family-friendly walks to longer runs. This year, the route has been extended to include the brand-new “Gateway of Giants” sculptures at the Port Coquitlam Community Centre, a powerful tribute to local champions and Terry’s legacy.

All routes are wheelchair-accessible and open to participants of all ages.

Special Events

The weekend will feature more than just the run:

  • Gateway of Giants Unveiling Ceremony

    • 📅 Saturday, September 13, 2025

Road Closures and Parking - Terry Fox Hometown Run 2025

The Hyde Creek parkade will be closed until noon, but free parking will be available nearby. Participants are encouraged to walk, bike, or use transit when possible.

Police cars and officers manage traffic at an intersection with road barriers. Blue sky and buildings in the background. Street signs visible.

Fundraising and Community Impact

The Terry Fox Hometown Run is a volunteer-driven, non-competitive event, powered by the passion of the community. Every dollar raised goes directly toward cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation.

Over the years, millions have been raised across Canada thanks to people like you who continue to believe in Terry’s dream.
