Honouring Our Veterans in Port Coquitlam

Every November 11, the people of Port Coquitlam gather to pay tribute to the courage and sacrifices of Canada’s veterans. This year’s Remembrance Day 2025 ceremony continues a proud local tradition that brings together veterans, first responders, and residents in reflection and unity.

People arrange wreaths with red poppies at a stone obelisk monument in a town square. Overcast sky, construction crane and buildings nearby.

Whether you’re attending for the first time or returning as part of a long-standing PoCo tradition, here’s everything you need to know to take part in this year’s Remembrance Day events.

The Ceremony at Veterans Park

The Remembrance Day parade begins at 10:10 a.m., with local veterans, cadets, and community groups marching through downtown Port Coquitlam. The route leads to Veterans Park, where the city gathers around the cenotaph for a moving ceremony that includes the Last Post, Reveille, and a moment of silence at 11 a.m.

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to place their poppies at the cenotaph as a heartfelt sign of respect.
