Tucked into a quiet residential neighbourhood near the local baseball fields, a garage on Taylor Street has been transformed into a warm and welcoming creative space. What began as a personal studio has evolved into a community-focused destination for art lovers and supporters of local makers.
Welcome to Feona Paints.

Art Studio in Port Coquitlam: A Creative Space on Taylor Street
Located at 1670 Taylor Street, Port Coquitlam, this home-based art studio offers something different from a traditional gallery experience. It’s intimate, relaxed, and intentionally personal.
Feona Schalk, a Port Coquitlam artist and longtime community member of over 24 years, creates peaceful abstract landscapes inspired by the West Coast. Her work focuses on calm, beauty, and emotional breathing room, especially for women and mothers navigating busy seasons of life.

A dog lover at heart, Feona has created a space that reflects who she is: warm, grounded, and community-oriented.
Rather than operating as a conventional retail storefront, the studio is designed as a space where visitors can experience art in a real-life setting. Paintings fill the walls, larger statement pieces anchor the room, and an easel often showcases works in progress, giving guests a glimpse into the creative process itself.
A Community-Focused Art Studio in Port Coquitlam Featuring Local Makers
What makes this art studio in Port Coquitlam truly unique is its Community Showcase.
Alongside Feona’s original artwork, the studio features a curated shelf displaying pieces from 10 local artists, creators, and crafters. The showcase is designed to introduce visitors to talented makers within the community and encourage direct connection and support.
This collaborative approach reflects the heart behind the space:
“The heart behind this space is connection — bringing art, creativity, and community together in a way that feels approachable, personal, and grounded in real life.”
The studio is not just about selling art, it’s about building relationships between creatives and the local community.
